Waffl · Smarter Postage Label Printing

Privacy policy

Last updated:

Your labels stay in your browser. Waffl processes label files locally. Feedback is optional and is sent through Formspree. Donations are optional and are handled on PayPal.

Who this policy covers

This policy covers the Waffl Chrome extension, maintained by thewavyblue. For privacy questions or requests, contact thewavyblue@gmail.com.

Waffl helps you import, arrange and print postage labels. You do not need to create a Waffl account to use it.

Label files and marketplace imports

Waffl reads PDF, JPG and PNG files that you choose to upload or import. These files may contain recipient and sender names, postal addresses, tracking numbers, barcodes and other information printed on the label. Waffl uses this content to display, crop, position and print your labels.

Labels are processed in your browser. Waffl does not upload label files or their contents to the developer, Formspree or an analytics service. Printing passes the prepared document to your browser and your chosen printing destination.

On supported eBay, Etsy and Vinted pages, Waffl checks page addresses and label controls to offer import buttons. When you request an import, it uses the selected file address and may briefly observe file responses produced by the original download control. Requests to retrieve a label may use your existing signed-in marketplace session. Waffl does not ask for or extract your marketplace password or authentication cookies.

For the “Open current PDF in Waffl” command, Waffl uses temporary access granted by your action to retrieve the selected HTTPS PDF. The source website receives the request needed to retrieve that file. Waffl does not collect your general browsing history or send marketplace page addresses to the developer.

Local storage and retention

You can remove labels from a page, clear unavailable-space marks and delete custom templates using Waffl’s controls. Closing the editor discards its current layouts. Uninstalling Waffl removes its extension-owned local storage; files you saved separately remain on your device.

Feedback and feature requests

If you submit feedback, Waffl sends the feedback category, title, message, extension version and any name or reply email you choose to provide to Formspree over HTTPS. Name and email are optional. Label files are never automatically attached. Please avoid including addresses, label contents or other sensitive information in your message.

Formspree processes the submission and delivers it to the developer’s email inbox. Feedback is used to respond to questions, investigate problems and improve Waffl. If you use the email fallback, your chosen email service handles the message instead.

Formspree may also process connection information such as your IP address and browser information. It operates infrastructure in the United States and may process information in other countries. Its handling and retention of information are described in the Formspree privacy policy.

Submitted feedback can remain in Formspree and the developer’s email inbox; Waffl does not automatically delete those records. You can request access, correction or deletion by emailing the contact above. Deletion may be subject to applicable legal obligations and service-provider backup retention.

Optional donations

The “Buy me a coffee” link opens PayPal in a separate tab. Using it is entirely optional and does not affect Waffl’s features.

PayPal handles the payment. The Waffl extension does not collect your card details or PayPal login. As the payment recipient, the developer may receive the payer and transaction information PayPal normally provides, such as a name, email address, amount and transaction reference. These records may be needed to administer the payment and meet accounting or legal obligations. See the PayPal privacy statement.

How information is used and shared

Waffl does not include advertising trackers or analytics, sell personal information, or use label contents or browsing information for advertising. Information is handled to provide label import and printing, remember your choices, respond to feedback and administer optional support payments.

Feedback is shared with Formspree and the email provider used to receive it. Payments are handled by PayPal. These services handle information under their own policies. Information may also be disclosed where required by law.

Waffl’s use of user data complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

Your choices and privacy rights

You can use label editing and printing without submitting feedback or donating. You can manage extension permissions in Chrome and remove Waffl at any time.

Where data protection law applies, processing to provide the features you request and respond to feedback is based on the legitimate interests of operating and improving Waffl. Records required for accounting or other legal duties are processed to meet those obligations.

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal information, restrict or object to processing, and receive a portable copy where applicable. Contact thewavyblue@gmail.com to make a request. The developer cannot access label files or settings held only in your browser.

You may also contact your local data protection authority. In the UK, this is the Information Commissioner’s Office.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated when Waffl’s features or data practices change. The date at the top identifies the latest revision.
